There is no such thing as a naked dac. Word clock, upsampling AND cabling all affect the sound; especially if a phono plug and not a proper 75R BNC connection is used. People pay megabucks for a cable that circumvents the improper matching of interfaces.

In my opinion there is no good 16/44.1 dac when compared to vinyl. I don't care what transpoprt is used; the resolution of REd Book is compromised.
