I agree with you. Personally I don't like the Wadia house sound.

The whole thing is subjective; there is no best sounding dac. Just what sounds best to a person with a given system.

To me no dac at 16/44.1 sounds good and good upsampling with say a dCS 972 (better than Purcell) to 176.4k is necessary. Then we begin to get the sound staging and lack of digititis of vinyl but without noise.

Vinyl is actually more forgiving than digital to set up.
