inexpensive source component for system

I'm putting together a system for my 6 year old son who loves music. So far, I have a Sonic T-Amp ver2, a pair of JBL Control 1x speakers and some Kimber cable. I'm looking for a source for under $100 that would mate up with what I have. He has an iPod but I'm looking for something better. Any suggestions?
