The question you should be asking yourself is "How important is quality sound reproduction to me?" . More importantly is how much music do you currently have on CD ? The "big store" tend to promote whatever new mass produced technology is currently available. If you are serious about getting equipment that is of higher quality than what you have the "big stores" aren't your best choice . You know that song "Video killed the radio" unfortunately that song has some truth to it if you choose to not seek out the products that "you" want.(Sorry about that last bit of Soapbox standing)
