206.124.57.9
I want a decent DAC, but every time I start researching it, I drown in a sea of argument and details ("This chip is better than that chip!", "I can't believe he used those caps!", "So-and-so's mods made my DACX so much better than that other guy's mods!").
I'm not a modder, I know the state of the art is always improving, and I don't have $20K for a DAC. I just want my RBCDs to sound better. I have no problem buying used.
I currently use an Oppo DV-980HD as a transport, and will probably plug in a Macintosh computer sooner or later. My current DAC is an Entech 205.2 which won't do more than 44.1kHz. I want to go the whole hog, 192kHz.
My amps and preamp are analog, so a DAC with detail and even a bit of glare is OK.
Any suggestions?
