Yes, the transport is the Achilles Heel. I bought a Softone Model 3 and am using it with a modified Paradisea + NOS DAC w/ USB and am very happy.
I will eventually go to a HD/server but still wanted to be able to play a single disc 'cause eventually a HD will crap out.
