I've heard of people making their own external battery supplies. The Ack has little room inside for anything other than the stock SLA batteries 1213 battery.

The standard is a 12V 1.3AH battery and it uses two of them for the +12 and -12V rails.
If you want a longer laster solution between charges, you'll simply need to go up to a larger amp hour rating at the standard SLA battery 12V output. If you bought larger sealed lead acid batteries and hooked them up appropriately to the internal wiring and also to the external charger, you should be good to go. SLA batteries are relatively cheap and if you want to package up these batteries, just get a simple case for them.
I use Battery Mart, they have been reliable for me. Supposedly bigger batteries give a slightly better sound as well.
If you like to DIY, this is an easy project. If you don't know what you're doing contact Chris Own at Ack and he might help you put something together.
