Well, just because you can spend $5,000 doesn't mean that you need to.
I would buy a few different DACs at different price points (maybe the CI Audio VDA-2 for $599, the Benchmark DAC1 for $1,000, the bel canto DAC3 which is like $2,000, and the Nagra DAC for whatever ungodly sum they want for it) and see if you actually hear a difference among them. Maybe the CI Audio is all you need, or maybe the DAC in your Denon is already good enough.
Is there a specific problem with your current CD playback that you're trying to fix?
