Mr. Weiss,
I have a few questions regarding the Minerva DAC:
1. I have a Pioneer DV-989 universal player which has 2 i.Link outputs. I would be interested to know if it would be possible to play DVD-A discs if I connect the Minerva to this player through the firewire interface. On its manual it says that the device connected must be Digital Transmission Content Protection (DTCP) compliant in order to play DVD-As and SACDs content through the i.Link port. I guess this is some kind of encryption to prevent copies being made.
2. Will the Minerva have the same low output impedance and high voltage output capabilities as the Medea or at least similar? I see that it doesn't have the low/high switch on the backpanel to change the level. Such a powerful output stage is very handy when you want to use a passive attenuator with a lowish input impedance. Stereophile measured a maximum output of 16.89 V on the Medea through the XLR connectors when set to high. This must be one of the most powerful output stage I've saw on a source component.
3. Could you tell us what will be the suggested retail price in Europe for the Minerva?
Thank you!
