(1) "Minerva" firewire DAC. The main feature is the firewire IEEE 1394 connection. For HTPC user, this bypass the need of having a soundcard and traditional AES (SPDIF) connection. Of course it also includes AES and SPIDF input selections. It has the similar anodized aluminum front page like Medea, but half in width. The greatest of all, it will be retail less than US$5K. I won't say it is affordable, but with the firewire connection plus Weiss classic text book perfect dejittering/conversion/analogue technologies, the ram buffer, cache playback etc are not an issue anymore. You get a Weiss DAC standard, and hooking it up with a computer, it sounds so good that Weiss has no plan to release a CD transport to match with at the moment, and recommend user to download highres music (AIX, LINN etc) sources.
(2) For people who are using Weiss Medea or other brand DAC. Weiss entire new "Vesta", is an audiophile standard firewire to AES box. The same firewire and dejittering technologies like Minerva, it close the gap between HTPC (computer playback) vs. high end CD transport. There will be one stereo version and one multichannel version (Vesta 24).
Plus, there is a plan to setup a new online store, so audiophile are able to get high resolution music sources with Minerva or Vesta playbacks.
