Robert Harley was utterly wowed by it, but even at that price you also need a transport and DAC. And people complain about the cost of the Nova Physics Memory Player ($17.5K complete)! And it does so much more besides.
Harley's language ("the coarse character [of CD] was replaced by a subtle and nuanced presentation"... and it gets better!) reminded me precisely of what I had experienced with the NPMP.
Also Harley devotes a page to an incisive take-down of the stiffs who have argued (as some still do) that "bits is bits".
Also Harry has Part 1 of an article on the Scaena loudspeakers (he loves 'em!) which I note were designed by the same fellow who designed the Memory Player, Mark Porzilli.
"Tubes, Vinyl and More" -- altogether a stellar issue of TAS.
