Mike,

I have had a Museatex IDAT-44 for almost three years - it is a great sounding DAC. I had it modded by John Wright and also switched to battery power from the very beginning.

Switching your power supply from wall-wart to a 12V SLA battery is something you should try out next. Give John a call and see what needs to be done to get the proper battery and connectors to hook up your DAC.
