With the fixed volume outputs. I read somewhere that the volume control doesn't sound that great, as it's digital and reduces resolution at lower volumes, but don't know first hand.

If you search the archives, you'll probably find my original post on comparing it to a few other players. My recollection is that it was warm, thick and sweet sounding, but with a nice punchy bass. Made some less than stellar recordings sound really good without taking too much resolution away from the better recordings.

Don't be put off by the whirring sound it makes each time you insert a disc (at least if you use it as a stand alone player). That's normal.

I gather some elders like the looks too, not just youngins, but it just looked a bit too small and . . . plastic/silver for my tastes. But again, that would not had stopped me from buying it had I not really fallen for the Moon.
