Thanks, Josh. That is almost exactly what I wanted to hear. I'm a youngin', and that Best Buy VCR look is cool to us kids. Problem solved. :-)

Can you be more descriptive about the CD sound? Did you happen to run another CD player as a transport into the CDP-2? Did you use the volume control at all?
