I thought it was great for the money if you like a warm, rich sound and had my budget not permitted a slightly higher price I probably would have bought it. But ultimately I chose the SimAudio Moon CD5.3 for its superior detail and transparency, though admittedly at about 150% the price of the Quad.

The Quad is butt ugly in my opinion. Kind of reminds me of a VCR you'd see sitting on a shelf at BestBuy collecting dust. But the sound is sweet.
