If you are referring to the original Audio Note CDP, I have a first generation CD-2 that uses a single 12AU7 tube and has two .47 uf output caps. Later models may be different or parts may have been changed, so remove the cover and take a look. I don't know the brand Audio Note used but when I queried Peter Qvortrup about upgrading them a few years ago he suggested the Audio Note copper PIO caps. The much larger PIO caps will not fit on the pc board and would have to be mounted on the rear of the chassis with the leads connected to the board. Probably a good idea to insulate the exposed leads in that case. I never got around to changing the caps in my CD-2 but I think it would be a worthwhile upgrade.

If you haven't already done so, upgrading the stock tube is very worthwhile. I found the Amperex 7316 to be one of the better tube choices and recommended for this CDP. Try a Herbie's Tube Damper for an inexpensive and easily discernible upgrade in sonics.
