Who has upgraded from the Cambridge 840C? To what?

Hello,
I am a 840c owner and thinking of moving to a better machine.
The 840c is a fantastic machine at its price point.
The only dissatisfaction I have is the localization of certain treble frequency exactly AT the speaker position. Kinda "disjointed" high frequency in relation to the mids and lows.

Maybe ex-840c-owners can gimme some advice and how their new machines compare to the 840c.

Machines I am thinking of are:
Marantz SA-7S1
Simaudio Supernova CDP
Any others?
