For the hell of it I found one of the highly touted PS1 ubits for $30 with 12 games!!

Very decent CD player from the Multi AV output (with no additional opamp or cap as from the audio R/L outputs.

Much better than DVD players or cheaper CD players in terms of musical reality and lack of offensive digititis; plus lots of room for modding!!
