That's because all *S* players sound a lot more natural soudning than *X* players. They sustain a note decay longer.

With my previous CDS3 and current CD555, the jump was quite big enough that I can even say they are cut from the different cloth. It's much more muscular than the CDS3. Surprisingly closer to my Krell unit.

You must have had a pretty good CDS3 ( or PSU ) if the jump wasn't that big.
I wish I had yours so that I didn't have to pony up for one. ;)
