I went from Naim (CDS 2) to Audio Note and got the results you say you're looking for. I did that before I began a dealer, by the way. As Mac suggests below, to achieve an abosolute upgrade as well as the change in the presentation you seek, you'd likely have to spend another $2500 for the CD4.1x. The CD2.1x is very good as an entry level AN player, but with the CDX, you are past entry level. That said, the 2.1 seemed to satisfy the lion's share of those who visited the AN room at RMAF, so maybe I'm underselling it. Probably better to undersell here....
