Hi David,
You do realize that with the DEQ2496 you CAN do everything in the digital domain? It has both analog AND digital inputs AND outputs. Personally, I'm using the DEQ2496's TOSLink digital input from my SqueezeBox3 then using the analog outputs of the DEQ2496 and I think it sounds pretty good. However, many folks use the digital inputs and outputs of the DEQ2496 so as everything is done in the digital domain then run the output to a high-quality external DAC.
