Finished my Monica DAC and SS I/V gain stage last night (see DIY Paradise). Wow, very nice sound. Really opened up the soundstage, bass is MUCH better, much better definition between instruments. I was using the internal DAC on an older Nacamichi CD player, part of a "2nd" system. So glad I made this relatively small investment. I have no affiliation with the product, just a new fan!
