Well, it would be nice to think so. I mean, there are lossless data compression formats such as Zip. But does audio lossless work the same way, i.e. restore precisely the same bits on output? Obviously lossy formats don't work that way.
Come to that, I wonder what compression ratio I'd get if I Zipped a WAV file? I what would happen if I tried to play it pack directly from the Zip file??? Anyone know? If not, maybe I'll try it.Bill Bailey
