The CD31 is quite clean and silky on top; where most digital often get it wrong/artificial. Overall a very neutral sounding CDP. I've auditioned it with top end Ayre/Avalon system against the Ayre 7e CDP. Although the 7e is even more natural top to midband, it's not a really dramatic difference (obvious on A/B though) even on this high resolution system.

I heard the Saturn in another system so not a fair comparison. I think it's great in a timing/coherent kind of way and with a little more body and texture - not so much in treble refinement like the CD31. Like I say, different system, so take my comment on the Saturn with a pinch of salt.

The CD31 is definitely better made and more sturdy/expensive looking.
