or read about others using 2.2-3.3 uF on the MSB pins. I read an old post by Thorsten about using larger caps on these pins to improve bass.

The decoupling caps in my dac are ERO MKP1813...I've toyed with replacing these. Have you experimented here, or were Epcos the originals? I read good things about Epcos.
