The Timbre TT-1 is still one of the all-time great DACs in my experiences. But I will say if the DAC had a weakness, it was soundstage..... It was just not a spectacular attribute of this particular DAC.....

The closest thing I've heard to the TT-1, with maybe a bigger soundstage, is the Lavry DA10 DAC. Although I'd probably give the Timbre the slightest of edge overall.

If everything else sounds right, I personally wouldn't let soundstage alone send me onto a component merry-go-round. With the DACs out there now, I wouldn't be shocked if you ended up frustrated. For the Timbre TT-1, as I stated earlier, is truly a great DAC.
