I can't speak directly to the Music Hall 25.2, but I can to the Consonance Linear which I just bought in May. Over the past four years, I had owned only two CDPs> Jolida JD100 and the RA Opus 21 both of which I liked for different reasons. I wanted to keep the budget below $1000 and ultimately chose the Consonance Linear. I can say it is the best digital I have owned in my system (AES Sixpacs, MW SWL 9.0SE, GMA Callisto). It is as smooth as the Jolida but has the clarity and definition of the Opus. I have had experience with tube and SS CDP's, I have run them direct and through a preamp, I wanted to see what a NOS CDP sounded like. I gotta tell you, it is special in my system.
