2k CDP or cheaper MH 25.2/Consonance 120 Linear??

Here's my situation, I can spend up to USD2k for a new CDP. Looking for a smooth, non-fatiguing Accuphase sound (doesn't have to be that close given my budget is small). About 4-5% of my music collection is single layer SACD, but I am willing to forgo all that for the larger 95% Redbook collection. Initially NAD M5 fit the bill as it should play redbook well as well as SACD. I listened to it the other day with M3 and NHT speakers. The sound wasn't that appealing to me, but NHT is not my cup of tea anyway. I am going to audition it again soon with gears I am more familiar. But at another dealer's room, I heard the Music Hall 25.2 with ASL and Epiphany 24/24 speakers and was blown away. I didn't feel anything significant was missing given the 25.2 was even cheaper than the cables used in that system. Makes me wonder if I should put in 2k for a CDP or get just the cheaper 25.2 and forgo a little of resolution. I will audition everything again anyway, including the famous Consonance 120 Linear (supposed to be good?). If any of you have heard the said units or have any suggestions for USD2k down, you are all welcomed to share ideas.
