Razordawn--
I got started on this project because I had an old computer
that still had some miles in it that wasn't being used for
anything, and we (my wife and I) started using it for managing
our Ipods. So we will see. I have read the important article
on computer transports, which I had looked at, but had not really
attended to. I have Foobar working, so I am on my way.
At this point, the limitation on the quality of recorded sound is
probably the recording microphones, at least for the kind of
music I listen to (mostly acoustic jazz of a kind that
difficult to record, Matthew Shipp, David S. Ware). Surely,
the knowledge of how to make digital recordings is out there.
WHy doesn't Apple market a line of audiophile Ipods with high
quality phones. With 80 gig, it is possible to load a lot of
files with better qualities than MP3s. THis would begin to get
people interested in better quality sound.
