Calfornia Audio Labs Alpha DAC compatability problem

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

When I connect a CEC TL-1X to my CAL Alpha DAC, the relay switch clicks repeatedly and no sound is delivered. I have tried both the coax and balanced outputs. I can only guess that there is some sort of voltage and/or impedance mismatch.
I have used this DAC with several CD players (Cairn Fog, Resolution Audio CD50, Consonance Droplet) without any problems.
Does anyone out there have any idea what is is going wrong, and is there anything that can be done to remedy this?
