Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: Lynx and RME cards.

Well, here's some for starters:

A/D and 8 Channel D/A Combo boxes:

Mytek 8X192 ADDA $3300
Apogee Rosetta 800 192K $2700
RME ADI-8 PRO DS (96khz) $2200
Lynx Aurora 8 (24/192) $2200
ADI-8 Pro DS (24/96) $1800

A/D and 16 Channel D/A Combo boxes:

Lynx Aurora 16 (24/192) $3300

D/A Only (8 Channel, 24/192)

Lavry 2 channel $1300
Lavry 4 channel $2200
Lavry 6 channel $3000
Lavry 8 channel $3850

Sure you could get four Benchmark DAC1’s for the price of a Lavry8 – but then you would have FOUR independent clocks with NO wordclock I/O.

Check out some of the products at:

http://www.proaudiosolutions.com/

For $2900 you could get a Lynx AES16 and an Aurora 8.

So it's really comes down to dollars and value. Is piping out digital in synchronous mode to an external DAC going to better the ever popular "top in its class" Lynx 2B PCI?

And if it's only a teeny weeny bit better, then is that teeny weeny worth $1800.

That's all I'm sayin ;)

Cheers,
Presto
