Krell SACD Standard Mk.II Reliability Issues?

I may be able to home audition one tomorrow evening and Saturday morning, and will try to also audition an NAD M55 and McCormack UDP-1 (CJ version).

Based on an audition at the dealer last Sunday, on a similar but not identical system (but not at all similar room), I think I would give the slight advantage to the Krell (though that means little to me until a home audition).

But I am worried about reliability. The dealer has three options on the Krell: (1) brand new Mk.II (with a pretty nice discount), (2) refurbished Mk.II (very good deal and fully warranty) or (3) refurbished MK.1 (I have zero interest).

I am wondering - why do they have a bunch of refurbished Mk.IIs? Have these players also had reliabiity issues? If so, I'll pass on this player regardless of sound.
