Send your audio signals from the sources(DVD,Cable/SAT to the RCA 5.1 receiver. Figure out and make sure the digital inputs are turned on in the receiver (or it might autoselect) and make sure your digital audio outs are set correctly on the sources and are on. I would just send video signals to the TV and not through the receiver, it just adds noise and the need for extra cables.

Forget that

Connect the audio from the "Sources" (DVD,Cable or SAT) to the RCA unit.

Connect the video from the sources to the TV.
