Re: Why no transport using CD/DVD ROM + hard disk driver

JA may have made this prediction 2 years ago but it took us over 3 years to develop such a product and the matching DAC. Ripping data perfectly from CD to hard-drives is not a given and considerable research was required to design the right proprietary software and select the best drive for the task. Also, it would seem that the design criteria to be considered when designing a high-end CD transport are pretty much the same when designing a hard-drive transport like ours.

So, to answer your question, making a ROM/HD audio transport is possible but not necessarily easy, if your desired outcome is good sound quality. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me: a.heng@zerooneaudio.com
