Re: Ah Tjoeb 4000 any good as a transport??

I've used mine as a transport at times, while experimenting with various DACs, and it has sounded quite good. My unit is heavily damped with Dynamat and rope caulk. Dynamat on the top cover, the sides and bottom of the chassis, on the stamped chassis legs supporting the transport, and even on the 4 corners of the CD tray. I have used rope caulk to damp any rattles in the chassis and components, and to add some mass to the transport chassis. If you take the cover off and tap on various areas of the unit, you'll discover all kinds of annoying little rattles.
