Thanks for the concern 'Cool' (hee hee), but you have a MK2 which might be different from the MK1 I'm using.

Also the dealer of AR in Thai land where I'm at wasn't sure exactly how hot was hot so they tested one of their CD3-MK1s at the shop and it was very slightly warm under standby 30 minutes in an AIRCON room.

I repeated the test at home and my unit was as cool as the shop's under air con but was considerable hotter in non-aircon conditions. I think the ambient temp is an important factor.

I've added a tiny computer CPU fan to my system now. One that I switch on when I am not using the CD3 but remove when I'm listening to music. I'm convinced that this will make the electronics inside last longer.

I might whip out the vacuum cleaner and screwdriver over a weekend and do some housekeeping too. The carpet of dust inside isn't helping at all.
