My little Panasonic SC-PM19 in the bedroom was acting up, skipping like crazy. I resisted opening the damn thing up, for fear of screwing up something else -- though, for an older junk unit, I would give it a try.Anyway, I ran the Radio Shack Compact Disc Laser Lens Cleaner through it a couple of times, and now it sounds just like new.
From reading posts, I understand that regular cleaning like this isn't a good idea ... but when the CD player is sick, is there a particular commercial lens cleaner that is better than the others? I'm thinking Discwasher, but maybe they are all the same.
