Re: DVD players for audio CDs

I can only address a couple of your questions.

1). Burr-Brown is a brand name for Integrated Circuits (ICs). There are some ICs made by BB in the Samsung/Toshibas. As to the sonic capabilities a message to BOBM may yield the info you seek.

2. I have listened to and modified Toshiba 3950s and 4960 and a Samsung HD-841. These units sound good right out of the box and sound outstanding after being tweaked. You may be able to do a search on this forum to get info on other players. The Toshiba and Samsung are so inexpensive that you can't really loose, unless you already own one of the other units you refereneced.

So as a newbie you may want to stay on the beaten path and learn the way before beating a new path. LOL
