ARC CD3 MkI too hot?

203.144.160.247

I'm using the Audio Research CD2 MKI and when it is under standby mode (ie. off with the mains still plugged in) the casing remains rather hot. Not too hot to touch but would be uncomfortable to hold a hand on for a long time.

My question is whether this will be harmful to the electronics inside if kept under this heat for years on end. Obviously ARC intended certain parts of the player to be on all the time but if I added some ventilation, say with a tiny computer CPU fan attached to the table blowing air up into the slits on the bottom of the CD3 casing, help to lengthen the life of the machine?

Or is the heat not a significant issue? My CD3 sits in a non-air conditioned room of around 28 Celcius.
