It's biggest drawback is extremely long load times due to use of the 1st generation Sony transport (top-loader).
It is one of the few SACD players that supports HDCD and has balanced outputs.
A newer generation machine such as the Marantz SA11s1 or Krell SACD Standard would probably be better. Both are balanced but neither have HDCD.
