For 1000$ buy a 400$ dvd player from pioneer elite,sony ES etc...which will sound very good with your concert cds.Spend the rest (600$) on a NAD/Cambridge audio/Marantz dedicated CD Player.I would suggest the marantz cd6000 ose or the CA Azur640c or the NAD 541I cd players. I have gone down this ally before.This is the best in my experience.
