Re: Tuner Improvement

This thread is pretty interesting to me. I bought a car with XM built-in in October of 2004, and I have started to listen to a lot of XM. I think the content is excellent. Sonically, given how good the system sounds with CDs, I'd have to say that XM's quality isn't all that great, but it's very easy to listen to. Maybe it's like the even- versus odd-order harmonic distortion thing: XM's sonic flaws aren't all that horrible. I'm glad to hear that people (like me) who care about how things sound (and post to something like AA) actually don't mind listening to XM.

That said, if you ever go to a car forum like Acurazine's site, it's amazing . . . the car folks love to moan about how XM's sound is so inferior to Sirius. Who knows. My dad's got Sirius in his car, and I do think it sounds better than XM, but I don't like the content as much.

Oh, well, random musings.
