A good outboard DAC will probably help your Polk, I was actually trying to go and see one tonight to see how it looked in person. I suspect that some chassis dampening and even some power filtering could greatly help the performance, perhaps even more than an outboard DAC. The reciever in the Polk (or any XM tuner) is probably generating a huge ammount of RFI, so some careful shielding could be of great benefit.

As far as I know, none of the "Modders" have done any work on any of the XM units, but you could still ask over in tweaks, to see if anyone there has further thoughts.
