What ticks in your machine is the same thing that ticks in most DVD players. A laser assy step motor. Why does it ticks? Because it is new technology and they think if you are stupid enough to fall for it, you probably won't mind this ticking.
There is no way for consumer to fix this. It is made to be like this. If your machine was not doing this before, then it is either dirty or needs a little adjustment.
