Hi all,
Ok, I couldn't resist the allure of the orange $18.00 speaker cable, especially as I'm bi-wiring fairly long (19 ft.) runs. Set it up yesterday (bare wire into receiver, bananas into speakers) and only have about 12 hours on it. I switched from Audioquest Type 4+.Off the bat, I'm pretty impressed with these overall, especially considering the incredibly small investment and the fact that they're brand new and, uh, extension cords. I am, however, hearing some harshness in the upper midrange, particularly on female vocals and guitar solos. Wondering what others have heard as these settle in. Is this consistant? Should I expect them to smooth out a bit?
In any case, I'll leave them in and report what I hear. Thanks to everyone who's taken the leap ahead of me.
