After receiving many advises from numerous inmates, I finally decided to purchase these cables without auditioning them!! I knew that my sources(you know who you are) can be trusted and I had a chance to visit Japan so I took my risk. (Kondo-san only sells his products direct now a days) Ashizawa-san at Audio Note Japan (Kondo) assisted me via e-mail and I decided on 0.5m AN-Vz and 2.5m bi-wire AN-SPz unterminated.I have used this cable for almost 2 month now, all nice and brocken-in. However, cables sounded excellent from the moment I installed them.
So, was it worth the risk of not auditioning and big bucks? You bet! Simply put, these cables are so organic. When, listening to the music being played through these cables, you simply forget about soundstaging, depth, imaging and all that stuff. I truly believe that these cables lacks all those artificial qualities overly enhanced by many of other hi-end cable manufacturers. When I close my eyes, they never dissapoint me. They reproduce excellent ambiance where the recording took place, sound decay is so natural...
Have you ever heard violin live? I've never heard such a life like reproduction of violin from a system until today. And I don't even have the top notch gears as I have listened in contless demos. Hell, I'm using my SS amp right now! And did I mention bass? Sure, my cables are bi-wired but I would have never imagined such a bass from monitor speakers. And it's not sacrifising the details either.
To my ears, these cables does everything right, it gives just the right ambiance, soundstage, height, depth that are so true to life. I was afraid to comment on initial impression, however, I can confidently say so after using these cables for 2 month.
| Product Weakness: | Craves me to upgrade rest of the system. If you like the high-end aesthetics you may be dissapointed. These are wolves in sheeps clothing kind of product. |
| Product Strengths: | My search for cables are over. |
