All I can tell you is that I connected a Sharp VCS100U (SVHS) to a Sony WEGA XBR with one of Monster's intermediate-quality S-Video wires. Then I got curious and swapped in a Max Rochlin Memorial (made faithfully to the instructions) on the composite jacks and took out the S-Video connection. The picture was better with the Max Rochlin.
