Here's the progression I went through:
Kimber PBJ (the originals) > Kimber KCAG and AQ Lapis/Diamond > Mapleshade (various) > Omega Mikro (various). At each stage I was hearing more clarity, better dymanics, more openness, more "musicality." Now, I just got the Heartlands yesterday and have tried them in only one link (turntable to phono stage) so far, but the things are flat amazing, to my ears. No, they are not better han the Omega Mikros, and THIS IS JUST A PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT. I may wind up hearing something that turns me off, and I have no idea if they will change and/or how they will sound after burn-in, but at $50/meter, I don't see how you can lose by trying them. They even look great.
