I second the recommendation of the VH Audio Flavor 4 PC for power amps, power conditioners, any high current demanding gear on a budget. I just recently built one (took me 2.5 hours). After playing around with powercords for the last 3 months I will agree that they will make a difference for the positive over the stock powercord. I like the Flavor 4 PC for the price. Even though it is not broken in yet, I like it. Works best on my Chang Lightspeed 6400 and filtered hotbox I built.I have also noticed that different gear will like or will produce better results with different PCs. The same holds true for IC and speaker cables. In another words, My Proceed Amp sounds better with a modified 13ga. Z-Squared Au/Au PC then the Flavor 4. But my Chang Lightspeed 6400 sounds better/produces better results with the Flavor 4 then the Z-Squared Au/Au PC, go figure.
Regarding the Flavor 4 PC, if you are planning to DIY a Flavor 4, you will need a Dremel or a power tool to ream out the back of the plugs for the end product of the Flavor 4 is about 1" in diameter. Also I have not tried any of the other VH Audio PC.
Good Luck!
