Add Your Review for the DIY Silver Interconnects |
I eventually managed to find the time to build Chris VH's famed DIY Silver Interconnects.
Construction itself was not too bad, except to note that the first one I made was a little shorter than planned due to user error with the soldering iron.
Anyway onto the review. I installed the first interconnect on the CD player so I could A/B the DIY Silver with the Cobra using the channel selector on the amp. Wow is all I can say! The improvement of the Cobra did not need to be A/B'd to tell the difference. The lows were more extended and crisper, the highs were sweet and clear and everything else in between was improved. I never would have beleived an interconnect could make that much difference!
Having easily convinced myself that my time and money had not been wasted on these, I connected both DIY silvers to the CD source and promptly listened for a couple of hours in rapture. The improvement is so dramtic it sounds like someone took away my aging Arcam Alpha and replaced it with a high end CD beast. The main difference is in the timing, everything just sounded more musical with the rhythm of the music being brought out along with the added clarity.
Thanks for sharing the recipe Chris.AndyL
